After being charged with an unidentified sexual offense, Taeil left NCT. Popular South Korean group NCT (Neo Culture Technology) made their debut in 2016.
According to the Seoul Bangbae Police Station, NCT member Taeil was reported for a sexual offense in June of this year by a woman. Taeil’s management company, SM Entertainment, stated on Thursday that they “were notified of the criminal investigation in mid-August,” according to Allkpop. What has Taeil’s agency said
“Both SM Entertainment and Taeil were notified of the criminal investigation in mid-August,” stated a statement from a representative of the company. Then, on August 28, KST, Taeil was called in for questioning.” The criminal report was reportedly given to the police in June. They nevertheless “did not notify the suspect of the investigation until August” .
Why Taeil exited NCT?
Taeil’s label revealed on Wednesday that he had left NCT following allegations of a sexual offense that was not specified. After finding out he has been “accused in a criminal case related to a sexual crime,” the NCT member will leave the boy band, according to a statement his agency, SM Entertainment, released on X. The type of crime was not stated on the label.
“We have determined that Taeil is no longer able to participate in team activities due to the severity of the situation. Taeil will be leaving the group, it has been decided after we spoke with him about this,” the label stated. He is fully assisting the police investigation, the label continued.
