After undergoing hormone replacement surgery, the 23-year-old shared the results of the 10-month procedure on social media. Aryan has now changed his name to Anaya, which has gone viral on the internet. In his transformation clip, Aryan, who resides in Manchester at the moment, posted several pictures of himself with star batsman Virat Kohli and former India captain MS Dhoni.
“The path to realizing my dream of being a professional cricket player has been one of perseverance, sacrifice, and unrelenting dedication. Every step has required strength, from early mornings on the field to dealing with other people’s doubts and judgments,” Aryan (now Anaya) wrote in the video’s title.
“But I had another travel after the game. a journey of self-discovery with many obstacles encountered. Making difficult decisions, letting go of the ease of fitting in, and standing up for who I am—even when it wasn’t easy—were all necessary to embrace my genuine self. I’m honored to participate in my favorite sport today, regardless of level or classification, not just as an athlete but also as my true self. Finding my true self has been the biggest achievement of all, even if the journey hasn’t been simple,” he continued.
Aryan, like his father, plays cricket and has played for Islam Gymkhana in local club matches. In addition, the left-handed batter has represented Leicestershire’s Hinckley Cricket Club.
“Inclusivity is incredibly important to us as a sport, but our priority was to protect the integrity of the international women’s game and the safety of players,” said Geoff Allardice, CEO of the ICC.
Aryan also posted a lengthy message on Instagram expressing his displeasure with the new rule from the ICC.
Currently residing in Manchester, Aryan (now Anaya) is quite active on Instagram. He consistently updates his fans on his day-to-day activities.
