Following a Dolphins game, Tyreek Hill was briefly arrested for reckless driving, which infuriated the public. According to his agent, they might file a lawsuit.
Tyreek Hill, a star player for the Miami Dolphins, spoke out after a recent traffic incident that led to his brief arrest by the police. In a post-game interview, Hill said he “had no idea” why he was handcuffed and expressed his confusion and frustration over the incident. The wide receiver’s team has hinted that they might take legal action after he received a citation for reckless driving.
Tyreek Hill breaks silence over alleged traffic violation
A video that went viral on September 8 showed the professional athlete being handcuffed and taken into custody by police. The incident generated a lot of online attention, debate, and even criticism of the Miami police. For the first time, the Dolphins star has now spoken out about the incident, calling it “crazy” and expressing shock at the officers’ actions.
On Sunday night, ESPN posted a TikTok video in which Hill is seen conversing with reporters. I’m still attempting to put everything together right now. Hill says, “I’m still not sure what happened. “But I do want to be able to use this platform to say, what if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?” the professional athlete continued. As in the worst possible situation. It’s absurd. Although I have a great deal of respect for law enforcement, there are bad apples in every situation.
‘I didn’t cuss,’ Tyreek Hill explains recent arrest
Hill made it clear that he did not start a fight with the police, saying that he was courteous and did not use profanity. “I didn’t do any of it. I’m still attempting to understand it,” he continued. In his final remarks, he thanked his Dolphins teammates for their encouragement.
The exchange between Hill and the police was caught on camera by a number of bystanders who were filming the event. Hill is seen handcuffed on the ground in the video, and in one of the clips, an officer is seen advancing on him aggressively. It is still unknown, though, if the football player was struck by the officer. The Post claims that when a reporter questioned Hill following the game about whether an officer had touched him while he was in handcuffs, he replied, “Yeah.”
Tyreek Hill’s team considers legal action
“It’s totally unacceptable what happened to Tyreek at the stadium today. In a statement obtained by US Weekly, Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stated that Tyreek did not deserve to be treated that way by the involved police. Rosenhaus stated that in light of the incident, they may take legal action. He said, “I’m sure Tyler’s legal team will consider taking legal action. They will be pursuing this matter on his behalf.”
Right outside the stadium after the Dolphins’ victory on Sunday morning, the 30-year-old was stopped and handcuffed by police. Team members labeled the situation as a “traffic incident.” Hill reportedly received a ticket for “reckless driving,” according to NBC Miami.
