Tom Cruise demonstrated why he was selected as the 2024 Paris Olympics showstopper. The actor, who is renowned for pulling off all of the risky stunts in his films, pulled it off once more during the Olympic closing ceremony. He added a Hollywood flair to the ceremony by leaping from the roof of Strate De France, one of the biggest stadiums, and landing on stage. With his Olympic stunt, Cruise left everyone in awe, and the crowd cheered him on.
Tom Cruise’s jaw-dropping act at Olympics closing ceremony
At the closing ceremony, Cruise started his act by leaping off the roof. Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles welcomed him to the stage after she had accepted the Olympic baton from Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris. The actor from Mission Impossible was then handed the baton, and he rode out of the stadium on his motorcycle, signifying the transfer of the baton from Paris to Los Angeles.
According to Variety, the actor drove into an airplane after riding a bike through the streets of Paris while Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “By The Way” played in the background.
This stunt featured Cruise jumping out of a plane with a parachute and landing close to the Hollywood sign in a pre-recorded video. After landing, the actor adhered the five Olympic rings to the sign designating him as the host of the 2022 Games.
This summer, Cruise was a frequent sight at the Olympic games. He was first observed on July 27 at the opening ceremony, and he later made appearances at several competitions alongside other celebrities like Ariana Grande, Steven Spielberg, Sarah Jessica, and others. The French Culture Minister, Rachita Dati, bestowed upon him the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour one day prior to the grand opening ceremony.
Olympics 2028 in Los Angeles
By holding the majority of its Olympic events at recognizable locations like the Grand Palais, the Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Concorde, and the Chateau de Versailles, Paris has raised the bar for future Olympic hosting. Top celebrities like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion were also invited to the grand opening ceremony.
Seeing how the Summer Games will be held in the City of Angels is going to be exciting. This “will really show the diversity and the international character of our city,” LA Mayor Bass told Reuters on Friday in Paris. In addition, Hollywood is here, so I anticipate many amazing opportunities, some of which may start at the closing ceremony.
