The US men’s basketball team will continue its quest for its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal this weekend.
The main event of four Olympic basketball games scheduled for Saturday in France during the 2024 Paris Olympics will feature the United States against Puerto Rico.
The final game of Team USA’s group stage is against Puerto Rico, coming after matches against South Sudan and Serbia. The Puerto Ricans, captained by guard Jose Alvarado of the New Orleans Pelicans, defeated Lithuania, a team that has consistently competed for medals, to earn a spot in the Olympics. Puerto Rico is competing in its first Olympics since it shocked Team USA 92-73 at the 2004 Athens Games.
On the men’s side, Serbia and the current NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic, will play South Sudan, while in Group A for the women’s division, China, Puerto Rico, and Serbia will compete.

The two men’s matches on Saturday will air on linear television. NBC will feature the match between the United States and Puerto Rico, while CNBC will feature the match between South Sudan and Serbia later in the afternoon.
