The famous Seine river was used as a track for the athletes’ parade on July 26, marking the official start of the Paris Olympics 2024. The Summer Games opened ceremony celebrated the rich cultural diversity, revolutionary spirit, exquisite craftsmanship, and architectural legacy of France.
A dreamy departure from tradition marked the beginning of the spectacle as the ‘Parade of Nations’ threatened to be a spoilsport as athletes from 205 countries and one refugee team sailed down the Seine on boats in the lead-up to and during the ceremony. With his proclamation, French President Emmanuel Macron officially opened the Games and commenced the 16-day competition. India has three medals to its name from the current Olympics in Paris all three are bronze won in shooting.
