“The date of counselling will be announced once the exercise gets over to ensure seats of the new colleges can be taken up in the first round itself,” a government source stated.

The counseling process for admission of students appearing in NEET UG exam was to start from today i.e. 6th July 2024, which has been postponed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to ban the counseling but the MCC had not released any schedule regarding it.
Apart from this, the petitioners had requested to stop the process for two days as the apex court will hear the cases related to NEET UG on July 8.
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will soon announce new dates for NEET UG counseling. According to reports, the date can be announced after the hearing of pending petitions related to it in the Supreme Court. Through counseling by MCC, admission will be given to 15% seats under All India Quota (AIQ) in medical, dental and AYUSH graduate courses (MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, BYMS, BUMS, etc.) and all seats of deemed universities / central universities / ESIC, AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU and AMU.
Keep these documents ready for counselling
Before participating in NEET UG counseling, candidates should prepare all the documents. For counseling, candidates will have to submit class 10th, 12th mark sheets and certificates, income certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), valid identity proof, color passport size photograph, scanned signature, transfer certificate, disability certificate (if applicable) etc. So if you do not have any of these documents, then get them ready now so that you do not face any kind of problem at the time of counseling.
