The person wanted in connection with the crossbow attack that killed three ladies has been apprehended.
Kyle Clifford, 26, was the target of a significant police manhunt when his injuries were discovered close to a North London cemetery.
The victims were attacked in their Bushey, Hertfordshire, home. They were the wife and two daughters of racing analyst John Hunt.
They were characterized as “kind, friendly, and gentle” people who “always made time for others” by a woman who knows the family.
The suspect, who briefly served in the army before leaving two years ago, was reportedly receiving medical attention for his wounds, but “no shots were fired” by policemen, according to the police.
At a home in Ashlyn Close, Bushey, on Tuesday just before 19:00 BST, Carol Hunt, 61, Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, were discovered with terrible injuries. They all passed away at the scene.
The 36-year-old Luisa claimed to have used Louise’s dog grooming company, Groom and Glow, for three years.
She continued: “I hope they are remembered as wonderful, hardworking, kind women, rather than victims.”
Mark Chapman, the host of Radio 5 Live, shared his “love and thoughts” with friend and fellow pundit Mr. Hunt following a “heartbreaking day”.
At the opening of 5 Live’s Euro 2024 pre-match presentation, Mr. Chapman broke down in tears and remarked, “This has been a heartbreaking day.”
“John Hunt is our colleague and our friend, not just to the current 5 Live sport team but to all of those who have worked here with him over the past 20 years and also to all of you who have enjoyed his superb commentaries.”
A friend of Louise Hunt’s stated that he felt “angry, sad, and in shock” and was “in denial” about her death.
“At first, I couldn’t believe what had happened,” he said to News. Before I even knew who the victims were, my sister had told me the news early in the morning, and when I did learn, it was a huge shock. I’ve been denying reality.
“I can’t even begin to imagine what the father’s going through.”
Former football player Michael Owen said on X in reference to England’s triumph at Euro 2024: “And while the country celebrates, spare a thought for John Hunt.” It’s been a long time since I felt so completely horrified. Those unfortunate girls. Absolutely horrifying.”
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit’s Det Insp Justine Jenkins stated: “The victims’ family is still going through a very trying period, so we would ask that their privacy be respected while they process what has happened.
“The victims have not yet been formally identified, but this investigation is proceeding quickly.”
Local councilwoman Louise Nicolas expressed her sadness on Facebook earlier, writing that she was “deeply saddened to learn this morning of the tragic news that three women have lost their lives in a violent incident”.
The North Bushey ward representative for the Hertsmere Borough Council, Ms. Nicolas, is a Liberal Democrat. “Should anyone wish to speak with us or require any support please do not hesitate to get in touch,” she said.
“It goes without saying that this is a live investigation, so speculation as to the circumstances should not be entered into [on public forums].”
