According to an official update from the CPI(M), Sitaram Yechury is now in a stable condition and responding favorably to treatment after being in the intensive care unit.
Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on Friday to treat a lung infection. According to PTI, Yechury is stable and responding well to treatment.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi’s critical care unit has been treating Comrade Sitaram Yechury, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), according to an official statement from the CPI(M). He has a serious lung infection, which is being treated.
“There is a positive response to the treatment,” they continued. The state of Comrade Sitaram is stable.
According to PTI, Sitaram Yechury was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) after being admitted to the hospital on August 19 due to a high fever.
A team of specialized doctors were treating Sitaram Yechury for a respiratory problem, according to a statement released by the CPI(M) on August 31.
The precise nature of the ailment is still unknown. The 72-year-old leader of the communist party had also just had cataract surgery.
On August 22, Yechury posted a six-minute video on X with a message following the passing of former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya.
“I regret not being able to come in person to this memorial service and honor Com. Buddhadev Bhattacharya. It’s really unfortunate that I had to contact Buddho da from AIIMS in order to express my sentiments and revolutionary Lal Salaam,” he remarked.
He shared a message of support for the upcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir between the CPI(M), Congress, and NC on August 23.
On August 29, he was also online, expressing his sadness over the passing of his close friend Abdul Ghafoor Noorani.
“Deeply grieved over the passing of Abdul Ghafoor Noorani, a remarkable legal and constitutional scholar,” the writer wrote. Having read my little pamphlet “What is this Hindu Rashtra,” which was an indictment of Golwalkar’s philosophy, he invited me and fed me biryani that he had prepared at his Mumbai apartment back in 1993.
