In a parliamentary debate on Monday, Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP for dividing the community, which resulted in the removal of portions of his remarks from the record and strong criticism from the ruling party.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi stated on Tuesday that “everything is expunged in PM Modi’s world” in response to some of his remarks from yesterday’s Lower House that were removed.
“In the world of Modi ji, the truth is expungable. However, in actuality, the truth cannot be ignored. The truth is that I stated what needed to be said. They are free to remove as much as they like. Outside of Parliament, he told reporters, “Truth is truth.”
Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, provoked significant protests from the Treasury benches in his first speech accusing the ruling party’s leaders of dividing people along religious lines. Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed Gandhi for implying that the Hindu population as a whole is aggressive.
During the discussion of the Motion of Thanks regarding the President’s address to a joint session of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi was speaking.
Gandhi used a statement from Prophet Muhammad to emphasize that the Quran mentions being fearless.
He highlighted the value of fearlessness by citing Jainism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Lord Shiva while holding up images of Jesus Christ and Guru Nanak. The qualities of Lord Shiva and the teachings of Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Buddha, and Mahavir were also used by him to support his claim that all great religions and individuals say, “daro mat, darao mat” (do not be afraid, do not frighten others).
Rahul Gandhi’s comments caused such a stir among the Treasury benches that the Chair decided to take them off the record.
Gandhi made several statements that were removed from the Parliamentary record. These included his criticism of the BJP for allegedly treating minorities unfairly, his remarks about the industrialists Adani and Ambani, his claims that the NEET exam is only for the wealthy and does not include meritorious students, and his claim that the Prime Minister’s Office, not the Indian Army, is behind the Agniveer Scheme.
During Gandhi’s hour-and-forty-minute speech, at least five cabinet officials interrupted, including Prime Minister Modi, who spoke twice, while Home Minister Amit Shah demanded Gandhi apologize.
There are several religions that discuss bravery. Sonia Gandhi and her sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were watching from the visitors’ gallery as Gandhi made his first address as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. “In fact, all our religions talk about courage,” Gandhi remarked.
Gandhi criticized the BJP, stating, “Aap Hindu ho hi nahi” (You are not Hindus), as the members of the Treasury Bench rose in protest. Hinduism makes it quite evident that one should uphold the truth and never compromise on it be scared of it,” he said.
Interjecting into his remarks, Modi stated, “This is a very important issue. It is very problematic to refer to the Hindu community as a whole as violent.”
Gandhi urged the ruling party not to incite fear or hatred in his parting speech.
“Refrain from viewing the opponents as your adversaries. We are prepared to talk about anything you would like. “Let us collaborate to advance the nation,” he uttered.
