Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray tried to play the emotive “who is real Shiv Sena” card while concentrating their attacks on developmental issues in front of the Maharashtra Assembly election.
Leaders of the rival Shiv Sena faction, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde, sparred at their separate Dussehra rallies on Saturday night. The two leaders tried to play the emotive “who is real Shiv Sena” card while concentrating their attacks on developmental issues in front of the next Maharashtra Assembly election.
DHARAVI REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took aim at his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray during the Dussehra celebration at Azad Maidan. He addressed a variety of topics, including politics and governance.
According to Shinde, Thackeray simply desired the rehabilitation of Dharavi’s qualified citizens while serving as Chief Minister. According to Shinde, the decision was made to rehabilitate all 2.10 lakh Dharavi inhabitants after he was appointed Chief Minister.
“Despite holding power for 25 years, you never gave people’s pleasure top priority. As people in Dharavi continued to live in slums, you constructed home after bungalow,” Shinde remarked.
Shinde claimed that he “uprooted” infrastructure projects in Maharashtra and Mumbai by alleging that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance gave breaks to these projects.
During his Dussehra celebration in Shivaji Park, Dadar, Uddhav Thackeray charged that the Shinde government was “selling” Adani Dharavi.
“I’m not fighting for myself alone. It is for all of you that I battle. The residents of Dharavi are dealing with a lot of issues since they sold the area to Adani. Uddhav Thackeray declared, “I pledge everyone here that I would stop this Adani project in Dharavi as soon as we take power.
“We season our food with salt, which Tata provided us. However, certain industrialists are stealing the saltpan lands in Mumbai “Thackeray stated in his address, without mentioning any specific individuals.
TRAITOR JIBES
Additionally, Eknath Shinde made fun of Uddhav Thackeray for allying with the Congress, stating that “true Shiv Sainiks don’t leave their ground or ideology”.
The uprising spearheaded by Shinde, according to him, “freed Shiv Sena” from those who disregarded Bal Thackeray, the party’s founder.
In contrast, Uddhav Thackeray referred to the Shiv Sena led by Shinde as a “duplicate”. “The Delhi-based Abdalis son wished to minimize me. However, Shiv Sainiks stood by me like Maa Jagdambe and offered me courage,” he remarked.
MAHARASHTRA ELECTION
Regarding the elections, Eknath Shinde stated that the MVA’s performance in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha was “accidental” and predicted that the state will experience a recurrence of Haryana, where the BJP won a record-breaking third term in office.
In the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi won thirty of the forty-eight seats, while the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP combined could win only seventeen.
“Everyone is aware of who voted for you to win. Iqbal Musa, the suspect in the bombing, participated in the campaign. You can see the flag of Pakistan in your campaign trails. “Congratulations on the votes you received after abandoning Hindutva and insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah,” the speaker stated.
“AIMIM and Sena UBT are the same,” Shinde claimed, referring to the Muslim votes that the Sena UBT received in the Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray took aim at the BJP, his erstwhile ally, saying the group ought to be embarrassed to identify as “Bharatiya”. He accused it of being haughty and likened it to the Kauravas.
The leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) also questioned whether the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological parent party of the BJP and the Shiv Sena, approved of the “hybrid BJP” of today.
“I hold RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in high regard. But I disagree with his opinions. He is urging unity in the fight to preserve Hindutva. How come you and Modi failed to stop Hindutva in the past ten years?” He inquired.
The fall of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in the Sindhudurg area was another concern brought up by Uddhav Thackeray. After assuming power, he pledged to construct Maratha royal temples in each state district.
