There was a significant PSN outage that affected many PlayStation systems. Users had trouble using network features and starting games.
A severe outage that affected Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) affected PlayStation users across a number of consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS Vita, and even earlier gadgets like the PlayStation 3. The problem was verified by the official PSN Service Status page, which stated, “You may experience trouble using games, applications, or network services. Our goal is to find a quick solution to the problem. I appreciate your patience.
The impacted categories were listed under “Other, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, Web” on the service page. The PSN network features and games were affected by the outage. Users were unable to play single-player or multiplayer games that required an internet connection.
Some users reported seeing an error known as “PS5 error Code WS-116522-7,” which Sony’s error page linked to a malfunction with the system firmware upgrade. Nevertheless, offline games that don’t need an internet connection continued to function properly.
Sony has not yet provided any details regarding the cause of the outage or an estimated timeframe for its resolution. Since Sony stated, “We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” players are recommended to monitor updates from the firm while it attempts to address the disturbance.
