New Delhi: The Passport Seva portal’s features and services are available ahead of schedule after being temporarily unavailable for a few days owing to technical maintenance.
Following the timely and successful completion of technical maintenance, the Passport Seva portal, which includes the GPSP, is now operational as of September 1, 2024, at 1900 IST. According to the official Passport Seva website, “System is now available for citizens and for all MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP/Police Authorities.”
As previously announced, the Passport Seva portal will be unavailable starting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, and lasting for five days. According to the official Passport Seva website, the portal will be unavailable from Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 20:00 IST to Monday, September 2, 2024, at 6:00 IST due to scheduled maintenance. The system was unavailable to the public and to all MEA, RPO, BOI, ISP, DoP, and police authorities during the maintenance window.
Passport Seva portal technical maintenance: What will happen to scheduled appointments ?
According to the Passport Seva official website, applicants will be notified of any appropriate rescheduling of their previously scheduled appointments for August 30, 2024.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, numerous phony websites and mobile applications are gathering personal information from applicants in exchange for large fees for completing online applications and setting up appointments for passport and related services.

All citizens who are applying for an Indian passport and related services have been advised by the ministry not to visit the aforementioned fraudulent websites or pay for passport-related services. www.passportindia.gov.in is the official website of the Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs, where applications for passport services can be made.
As an alternative, candidates may utilize the official mPassport Seva mobile app, which is available for download from the iOS and Android app stores.
