Bhagyashree Jadhav, who carried the Indian flag during the opening ceremony, is also targeting a medal in the women’s Shot Put F34 Final. Men’s high jump competitors in athletics include Mariyappan Thangavelu, Shailesh Kumar, and Sharad Kumar. Who is Bhagyashri Jadhav?
At age 29, Bhagyashri Jadhav started her athletic career and won a silver medal at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. The para-athlete from Pune, Maharashtra, trains for fifteen hours every week with Coach Ravinder Satyanarayan. She placed seventh in the Shot Put – F34 event during the Tokyo Paralympics. Her most recent accomplishment came in May at the 2024 World Championships in Kobe, Japan, where she won a silver medal in the women’s F34 shot put.
