Mumbai Rain Live Update for Today: The financial capital continues to be lashed by rain storms. Following the tremendous rains that occurred overnight, severe waterlogging has severely disrupted Mumbai’s train and road traffic.
Heavy downpours are expected again on Monday, according to the IMD. The Met Department predicts that the city will likely experience extremely heavy rains throughout the next two to three hours.
After the severe rainfall caused waterlogging on several routes, local train services in Mumbai were suspended. The city is flooded in several places as a result of the heavy rains.
In the districts of Pune, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Amravati, and Nagpur in Maharashtra, the IMD has also issued a yellow alert.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asked Mumbai residents to stay indoors during the city’s continuous downpour. In addition, he told the authorities to maintain their vigilance because IMD has predicted further heavy rain.
“Life has been disrupted in Mumbai due to heavy rains everywhere,” Shinde stated. The road is congested with traffic, and this is also affecting the flow of traffic on the railroad.
“The railway administration is working to remove water from the track and is working to have traffic back shortly. He said, “I’ve ordered all emergency agencies to remain on high alert.
“People ought to leave their homes only when absolutely essential. Additionally, I’m pleading with the Police Administration, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and the Emergency Services to cooperate,” Shinde said.
Rahul Narwekar, the speaker of the Maharashtra assembly, postponed the House on Monday until 1 p.m. because of heavy rain that prevented several ministers and MLAs from reaching the legislature complex in south Mumbai.
At 11 a.m., when the House convened for the day, Leader of the Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar outlined the issues that Mumbai residents were facing as a result of the intense rains.
The Congress leader argued that despite spending crores of rupees, there was not enough preparation for the monsoon.
Following a landslide at Someshwar Mandal, Sai Krupa Housing Society in Vikhroli Parksite, the NDRF crew managed to save two girls. In the Mumbai and surrounding areas, at least 5 NDRF teams are in operation. The NDRF team is currently clearing water logging by moving boulders.
