Morgan Wallen’s bad antics might finally be catching up with him. Apparently, it’s so bad that he’s preparing for a potential stint in prison.
Wallen was detained by police in April after it was reported that he had thrown a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s bar in downtown Nashville. Morgan is accused of three counts of reckless endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon. Two of them are related to the fact that there were two police officers nearby when the crime was committed. The other only exists because it poses a risk to the general public. He eventually pays a $12,500 bond and departs.
Usually, one of the biggest names in country music would get a simple slap on the wrist for this. Morgan didn’t appear to be overly concerned about his impending legal battle. He’s done enough shows to make his One Thing at a Time tour feel like a second nature. But he seems to be getting ready for the worst case scenario—a prison sentence.
Morgan Wallen Might Face Some Time in Prison Over Chair Throwing Incident
Life & Style Magazine recently published information obtained from a team insider for Morgan Wallen. They assert that the lawyers are presently trying to get the country crooner to accept a plea bargain. However, it appears that he is already bracing for the worst. “At this point, things appear dire. He will probably serve time in prison, they claim. “I don’t think the prosecutors want him to skate away with no time because people will think it’s because of his celebrity status.”
In terms of the duration, even in the best-case scenario, Morgan wouldn’t be incarcerated for very long. He would prefer to suffer through a “30- to 60-day sentence.” On the other hand, if Wallen is found guilty of every charge, the judge could sentence him to six years in prison.
The insider is concerned about how this will undoubtedly impact his future touring. “If Morgan has a felony conviction, it’s going to make it hard for him to get work visas to tour internationally!” they say.
