With six cups inspired by beloved toys and collectibles like Barbie, Beanie Babies, and more, McDonald’s has unveiled a new collector’s meal.
In all, there are six vibrant cup designs to collect that evoke nostalgia with their depictions of goods that were big in the 1990s and 2000s: Barbie & Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, Coca-Cola, Hello Kitty & Peanuts, Shrek, Jurassic Park & Minions, and different mementos from McDonald’s.
“Getting that one hard-to-find McDonald’s collectible or the last item to finish your collection is an indisputable thrill. Giving fans a memory they can hold in their hands, we’re bringing back some of our most beloved mementos with a twist “said Morgan Flatley, McDonald’s Head of New Business Ventures and Global Chief Marketing Officer.
“These new collectible cups commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments and helping a new generation make their own lasting memories.”
A few variations of McDonald’s Collector’s Meal will be available starting on August 13. The Collector’s Meal is served with a hash brown, hot coffee, and a sausage and egg McMuffin during breakfast hours. For the remainder of the day, customers can choose between a Big Mac sandwich with fries and a drink or ten pieces of Chicken McNuggets.
McDonald’s has tapped into popular culture before to create some truly memorable moments. Earlier this year, a Happy Meal featuring a monstrous mash-up toy from the Hello Kitty and Yu-Gi-Oh universes was available at Belgian McDonald’s restaurants, marking one of the strangest joint ventures to date.
