A heated exchange between Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjeev Goenka and captain KL Rahul was captured on camera, sparking a major scandal for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
After the Lucknow Super Giants’ defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad, owner Sanjeev Goenka was shown on camera getting into a heated argument with captain KL Rahul. This incident caused a major uproar for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. After chasing 166, SRH won the match by 10 wickets and concluded the match in just 9.4 overs. Goenka met Rahul after the game, and their acrimonious exchange became a hot issue for both experts and fans. In an exchange on YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s program “Unplugged,” LSG spinner Amit Mishra discussed the contentious event and disclosed some previously undisclosed information regarding Rahul and Goenka’s relationship.
“Goenka expressed disappointment. We suffered two heartbreaking losses in a row. We lost by about 90–100 runs against KKR, and the game was gone in 10 overs against SRH. We were bowling them like we were in a net practice. “Will someone who has contributed money to the team not feel angry if I am so furious about it?” Amit Mishra asked on the podcast.
It wasn’t very important. However, I found out later that he claimed the squad should have shown more fight and that the bowling was terrible. It appeared as though you had given up all control. But in regards to the KL Rahul-Sanjiv Goenka controversy, I think people and the media overhyped it a little,” he continued.
Numerous reports indicated that KL Rahul will not be retained by LSG before to the 2025 Indian Premier League, but neither the team nor the player have released an official statement on the matter.
“Whether or not he is on the Indian team is irrelevant. But the skipper should be someone with the appropriate mindset for Twenty20 cricket. The team’s player should serve as captain. When asked if KL Rahul would stay as LSG captain, Mishra said, “I am sure LSG will look for a better captain.”
