Family members of Yunus Khan and Liyaqat Ansari from Hadapsar, Pune, organized a trip to Bhushi Dam for Sunday. A group of 17–18 family members arrived at the waterfall behind Bhushi Dam about 3:30 pm. Ten members of the family became stuck in the water streams and began to drown as a result of the abrupt rise in water levels caused by the continuous rain. But five of them made it out of the stream of water, while the other five vanished.
Given the seriousness of the situation, Vanya Jiv Rakshan Santha, Apada Mitra Maval, Shivdurg Mitra Mandal, local police, and fire brigade personnel hurried to the scene and launched a search operation. Three dead bodies had been found by authorities before the end of the day, and they were sent for the post.
