Foolio was lodging at a Holiday Inn in Tampa. The young musician was “kicked” out of an Airbnb where he was having a good time with friends after he was “basically ambushed,” as lawyer Lewis Fusco told News4JAX.

The police investigation states that Foolio and his pals began looking for a different place to celebrate after the party became too noisy and the police responded immediately to stop it.
In the meantime, two vehicles were purportedly parked outside the hotel when multiple armed guys showed up and began shooting at Foolio’s vehicle.
Tampa Police Department spokesperson Joneé Lewis told News Channel 8 that “what we have learned, and this is early in the investigation, two cars were shot at.”
The rapper referred to his 26th birthday celebration as “the best birthday ever” on social media.
Was Foolio facing any life threat?
Foolio was a well-known member of the Jacksonville gang KTA, which has been involved in a protracted war with rival gangs, according to First Coast News.
The rapper was attacked in a Jacksonville suburban community in 2023 by unidentified attackers. He sustained many fractures and a major wound after being shot in the foot.
He sued UF Health after the incident, saying that the nurse had compromised his safety by revealing his whereabouts.
Authorities said that during Foolio’s brother’s birthday celebration in 2018, a gang-related shooting claimed the lives of his cousin and three youngsters.
Authorities were still reviewing hotel security footage as of Sunday, and no suspects had been detained.
