According to sources, more appointments are anticipated in the near future in an effort to appease MLAs and former MPs who have expressed dissatisfaction with Shiv Sena neglect.
Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has moved to placate certain party leaders as dissatisfaction within the Shiv Sena grows by assigning them to lead various statutory boards, such as the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).
Sanjay Shirsat, an MLA and spokesperson for the Shiv Sena, was appointed chairman of CIDCO by the state government on Monday. Known for vigorously defending the party’s positions, Shirsat had expressed disappointment over being passed over for a ministerial position. The state offered him the ministerial-level position of chairman of the CIDCO since it was unlikely that the cabinet would grow.
Anand Adsul, a former member of parliament who felt marginalized, was appointed chairman of the SC/ST commission. Adsul had earlier stated that he had given up his Amravati parliamentary seat to support BJP member Navneet Rana. In addition, he had bemoaned the BJP’s purported failure to keep a pledge to name him state governor.
Additionally, Hemant Patil, a former Shiv Sena MP from Nanded, was promoted to cabinet minister by the government. At the moment, Patil is in charge of the Hingoli district’s Balasaheb Thackeray Turmeric Research and Training Centre.
According to government sources, more appointments are anticipated in the next few days in an effort to appease MLAs and former MPs who have expressed dissatisfaction with Shiv Sena neglect.
Adsul declared, “I was promised the position of governor.” “It’s disappointing that this commitment wasn’t honoured.”
“While I had hoped for a ministerial position, I am honored to lead CIDCO and will work diligently in this capacity,” Shirsat said, expressing gratitude for his new position.
These appointments are made at a pivotal moment in Shinde’s leadership career as he attempts to keep the Shiv Sena united while navigating internal party dynamics.
