Following the release of film showing Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf getting into a furious argument with some individuals, the PCB has threatened to take legal action.
In the video, which went viral on social media on Tuesday, Rauf is seen addressing a few anonymous males in the sidewalk while his wife and another man try to stop him.
The 30-year-old, who plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, implied in a message posted on Twitter later on Tuesday that an insult to his family was the reason behind the incident.
Rauf added, “I felt it was necessary to address the situation now that the video is out, but I decided not to bring this on social media.”
As well-known individuals, we welcome any form of public commentary. They have the right to applaud or condemn us. However, I won’t think twice to react appropriately when it comes to my parent and my family.
“Regardless of one’s occupation, it is crucial to treat people with respect and their families.”
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, also issued a statement on Twitter, saying, “We strongly denounce the horrific incident involving Haris Rauf.”
“Such behavior directed at our players is totally intolerable and will not be accepted.
“If those responsible do not promptly extend their apologies to Haris Rauf, we will take legal action against them.”
Pakistan, who placed third in Group A, was eliminated from the T20 World Cup with losses to the United States and India in the group stage.
Throughout the tournament, Rauf was Pakistan’s equal top wicket-taker with seven wickets at 14.42 and an economy rate of 6.73.
