Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other world leaders in a bilateral meeting at the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, where he landed on Tuesday on a two-day visit.
During the two days of the BRICS Summit 2024, which has as its topic “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,” world leaders will discuss important global concerns.
PM Modi emphasized the relationship between Moscow and New Delhi ahead of his planned trip to Kazan, stating that his second trip to Russia this year for the BRICS Summit will strengthen the two nations’ Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.
Originally consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (added in 2010), the group this year expanded to include Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates, further advancing its inclusivity and global mission. With 41% of the world’s population and 24% of its GDP, it is a significant grouping that brings together the world’s main growing economies.
