The Delhi Chief Minister’s office has been questioned by the BJP on the allegation of an attack on AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
The Aam Aadmi Party has been under attack from the BJP, which claims that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide attacked party member Swati Maliwal at the latter’s home. Along with other BJP leaders, Amit Malviya and Kapil Mishra claimed that Kejriwal’s former PA, Bibhav Kumar, had attacked the former head of the Delhi Commission for Women, and that she had reported the event to the Delhi Police from the chief minister’s residence.
DCP North Manoj Kumar Meena said that the Delhi Police had received a PCR call about an assault incident at the CM residence, but he added that Maliwal had not filed a written complaint. “A woman calling from a PCR reported that she had been beaten inside the CM house at approximately 9:34 AM. After arriving at the location, a police squad answered the call. MP Swati Maliwal visited the Civil Lines Police Station after a while, however she didn’t file a complaint. As of right now, we have not received any formal complaints in this matter.”
ABP News was previously informed by sources in the Delhi Police that two PCR calls came from a number linked to Swati Maliwal. According to the sources, the Chief Minister’s home was promptly visited by a police team after calls from her personal cell phone number were made.
To date, the AAP has not released a statement regarding the incident. When ABP Live hears back from the party, this report will be updated.
Response From The BJP To The ‘Assault’ Claims Made Against Swati Maliwal
Amit Malviya, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s IT cell, criticized the AAP party in the wake of the assault accusation. “Swati Maliwal, an AAP RS MP and former DCW chairman, claims she was assaulted by the PA of the Delhi CM. Call originated from the chief minister’s residence in Delhi. Recall that Swati Maliwal refrained from commenting on Kejriwal’s detention on the radio. Malviya commented on X, “She wasn’t even in India at the time and didn’t come back for a while.
AAP leader Kapil Mishra of the BJP also blasted the party and demanded an explanation.
“Did Swati Maliwal get abducted by Kejriwal’s PA, Bibhav? Will there be any clarification from the Chief Minister’s office? He said on X, “May God pray that the rumour of a female Rajya Sabha MP being beaten at the Chief Minister’s residence is untrue.
“According to sources, there was a clash between a close aide of the Chief Minister and a senior female leader at the CM’s residence around 9:15 a.m. this morning, possibly leading to a PCR call,” BJP spokesperson and head of the media department Praveen Shankar Kapoor also posted on X. I would prefer not to disseminate rumors. Could CMO Delhi please clarify this?”
Tajinder Bagga, the National Secretary and BJYM In-Charge, stated, “I stand with Swati Maliwal.”
