Mallikarjun Kharge’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deemed “distasteful and disgraceful” by Amit Shah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chastised Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday for his remarks criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that Kharge “unnecessarily” brought up the PM’s personal health issues.
Kharge almost passed out Sunday while speaking to the audience at a polling place. He remarked, becoming stronger, that he wouldn’t pass away before witnessing Modi removed from office.
The comment was deemed “distasteful and disgraceful” by Amit Shah.
“The Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji gave a disgusting and shameful speech yesterday, surpassing even himself, his leaders, and his party in this regard. He unnecessarily brought PM Modi into his personal health issues by claiming that he would only pass away if PM Modi was removed from office, in an acrimonious act of spite, Amit Shah wrote on X.
The comment, according to Amit Shah, demonstrated the level of dread and hatred “these Congress people have of PM Modi”.
He claimed that Congressmen are always considering PM Modi.
Regarding Mr. Kharge Ji’s well-being, Modi Ji, I, and the rest of us pray for him to enjoy a long and healthy life. May he live to see the establishment of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and may he live for many more years,” he said.
What had Mallikarjun Kharge said?
During the rally, Mallikarjun Kharge experienced a “syncopal attack (fainting)”. After a short pause, he continued speaking and declared that he wouldn’t pass away until Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ousted from office.
“My age is eighty-three. I’m not going to pass away that quickly. “I will continue to live until PM Modi is removed from office,” Kharge declared, returning to his speech.
“I desired to speak. But I’ve sat down because I’m dizzy. Please forgive me,” he continued.
Kharge later went for a check-up at the district hospital in Kathua.
“He experienced a syncopal episode, or fainting. He was brought in for assessment. His perspiration had increased,” a medical professional told PTI.
