Method of worship of Ashadh Gupta Navratri
Wake up in the morning and purify yourself. Take a vow to fast before starting the puja. Clean the house and the puja room thoroughly. Install the idol of the goddess on an altar. Perform her abhishekam. Offer a red chunari and 16 makeup items. Apply kumkum tilak. Light a lamp of desi ghee. Sow barley seeds in an earthen pot. Light an akhand jyoti in front of the mother. Offer a garland of hibiscus flowers.
Offer puri, batasa, chana, halwa, fruit sweets etc. Recite Durga Saptashati. Conclude the puja with aarti. Apologize for any mistake made during the puja.
