According to the suit, Dhruv Rathee uploaded a video from his YouTube channel titled “My Reply to Godi Youtubers | Elvish Yadav | Dhruv Rathee”
Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was summoned by a Delhi court on Wednesday in connection with a defamation complaint brought by BJP leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua, which was filed for Rs 20 lakh.
In his defamation lawsuit, Nakhua stated that Rathee had mentioned him in his YouTube video, “My Reply to Godi Youtubers, Elvish Yadav,” as one of the “violent and abusive trolls.”
In the defamation lawsuit against Dhruv Rathee, social media site X, and Google, District Judge Gunjan Gupta issued the summons. A hearing in this case has been scheduled for August 6.
The BJP politician filed a lawsuit alleging that Rathee had invited “violent and abusive trolls like Ankit Jain, Suresh Nakhua, and Tajinder Bagga” at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official house in his YouTube video.
The lawsuit was cited by Live Law in its report. “The video in question has received over 24 million views and more than 2.3 million likes, a number that continues to soar with every passing moment.”
Rathee’s “false accusations” on YouTube, according to Nakhua, have irreversibly damaged his reputation both personally and professionally.
