In the Delhi excise policy scam case, the ED arrests K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana ex-CM KCR, and takes her to Delhi for further investigation. The hearing for her bail is postponed until March 19.
The daughter of Telangana’s former chief minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday, March 15, in connection with a money laundering case involving the now-canceled Delhi excise scheme.
At 5:20 p.m., K Kavitha, a 46-year-old member of the Telangana Legislative Council, was taken into custody by the central investigative agency from her Banjara Hills home in Hyderabad.
After K Kavitha is arrested, what will happen?
According to former Telangana minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Kavitha was transferred to Delhi at 8:45 p.m.
K Kavitha is reportedly being brought to Delhi in order to finish the chain of evidence in the case of the Delhi liquor policy fraud, according to News18. Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh and Manish Sisodia, who are being held in judicial custody in this case, are also expected to confront K Kavitha.
K Kavitha would also meet with Amit Arora, a crucial witness who ‘admitted’ to the ED on the purported ‘bribes that were designed and secured in the Delhi liquor policy’ scam case.
According to the News18 report, K Kavitha is being transported from Hyderabad to Delhi for this reason. Additionally, it’s expected that K Kavitha would see Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who has been avoiding ED summonses.
K. Kavitha will be placed into ED custody pending a medical examination.
The Supreme Court has postponed her case hearing until March 19, despite the fact that obtaining bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is difficult.
K Kavitha’s response to her incarceration
K Kavitha insisted she hadn’t done anything improper. She claimed that since the BJP was unable to obtain a “backdoor entry” into Telangana, the Center was “using” the ED.
Videos that have been released by media outlets purport to show K Kavitha and ED officers getting into a furious argument. K. Kavitha made a “show of strength” by leaving her house with her son and family at her side, according to the BRS politician.
In the video, BRS leader and K Kavitha’s brother, KT Rama Rao, was also heard asserting that the ED officers were acting totally capriciously. At Kavitha’s home, BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former minister Harish Rao, and a sizable contingent of party members convened and raised slogans.
