Rahul Gandhi, defending Smriti Irani, asserted that humiliating others is a show of weakness and that winning and losing are inevitable aspects of life.
In a rare move, Congressman and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi supported Smriti Irani of the BJP and urged people to “stop being nasty” to her. He added that while it’s natural to win and lose, it shows weakness to make fun of other people. Gandhi’s post alludes to the internet abuse that Irani has been subjected to after she left the official house in Lutyens’ Delhi after losing the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Amethi.
“In life, one will inevitably win and lose. I implore everyone to stop being cruel and disparaging Smt. Smriti Irani, or any other leader for that matter, with foul language. He declared, “It is a sign of weakness, not strength, to humiliate and insult people.”
After losing the seat to Kishori Lal Sharma, a devoted member of the Congress, Irani left her official residence at 28 Tughlak Crescent in Delhi. Irani lost the seat of Amethi, where she had defeated Rahul Gandhi, by a margin of 1.4 lakh votes. When Irani defeated Gandhi in Amethi during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, she was referred to as a “giant slayer.”
