Anuradha Rani was stopped by assistant sub inspector Giriraj Prasad, according to CISF officials, for not having the authorization to enter via a gate when she was entering the airport at 4 am with other staff members.
After a fight over security checks at the Jaipur airport, a SpiceJet employee hit a male assistant sub inspector, leading to her imprisonment. An airport CCTV camera captured the incident.
Anuradha Rani was stopped by assistant sub inspector Giriraj Prasad, according to CISF officials, for not having the authorization to enter via a gate when she was entering the airport at 4 am with other staff members.
Then, they said, Ms. Anuradha was ordered to go through screening for airline crew at a nearby entrance, although at that time, there were no female CISF employees there.
According to Jaipur airport station house officer Ram Lal, the female employee slapped the assistant sub inspector after the latter called for a female colleague to finish the security check. The disagreement had already escalated.
A SpiceJet representative stated in an official statement that the worker possessed a “valid airport entry pass”. Additionally, according to the company, the female employee was “asked to come and meet him at his home after his duty hours, and was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel.”
“An sad incident involving a female SpiceJet security staff member and a male CISF man happened at Jaipur Airport today. Our female security staff member, who was escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him at his home after his duty hours. She had a valid airport entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India’s civil aviation security regulator,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said.
“SpiceJet has contacted the local police and is taking swift legal action in response to this serious allegation of sexual harassment against a female employee. We completely back our employee and will do all in our power to help her,” the spokesman continued.
Under articles 121 (1) (voluntarily causing pain to deter public servant from his duty) and 132 (assaulting public servant) of Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), police have filed a case against the female employee.
