Monday morning, the teenager called a friend, telling him he was lost and that his phone only had 1% power left.
A friend of the missing British boy, Jay Slater, expressed her concern that he is in “severe danger” on Tenerife and criticized the Spanish police for their efforts in the search for him.
When Jay Slater, 19, of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, called his friend Lucy Law on Monday morning, that was the last time anyone heard from him.
He was trying to walk for eleven hours to go back to his lodging after missing the bus.
Recalling their last conversation, Ms. Law called his disappearance “suspicious and weird,” adding that he was thirsty, bewildered, and that his phone had just 1% charge left.
He “cut his leg on a cactus and had no idea where he was,” she said to Sky News.
She stated in an interview with The Sun that her friend “wasn’t stupid” and that “there’s something weird going on.” It seems shady. You tell me someone hasn’t seen him in two days. He would have seen or passed by the eatery ten minutes distant.
Mr. Slater was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. The last place he was spotted on his phone was the Rural de Teno park, which is a well-known hiking destination.
Teenager’s friend calls for British police to help with search
After a fourth day of searching without yielding anything in the way of the teenager, Jay Slater’s friend has appealed for British authorities to become involved in the inquiry.
Lucy Law stated in an interview with the Mirror, “We need British police here.” All I want is to locate my soul partner. He hasn’t been seen in three days. Right now, it doesn’t look good. We believe that we are more capable than the police and that it is up to us to locate him.
“After three days, the cops still don’t have a translator and don’t speak English. It seems like they are ignoring me. The same questions that I was asked when I originally reported Jay missing are still being asked of me.
“The two boys he was last with have left the country,” she continued. British police need to question them.
