Anurag Yadav and Abhishek Kumar, NEET aspirants, have admitted that the leaked question paper that Yadav’s uncle sent them matched the real exam material. Only the confession letters may be accessed.
Anurag Yadav, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) applicant who was detained due to discrepancies in the results, acknowledged that the question paper he was given, which was leaked, was identical to the real one.
Not only has Yadav turned in his confessional letters to the police, but Abhishek Kumar, another student, and his father, Awdhesh Kumar, have as well.
Anurag Yadav, 22, the nephew of an engineer employed by the Danapur Town Council (Danapur Nagar Parishad) in Bihar, confessed in a letter that was obtained exclusively by India Today that his uncle Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu had informed him that all exam preparations had been completed.
Yadav added that he received access to the NEET exam’s leaked question paper and answers.
The student stated in the letter that when he took the test and was given the real question paper, it matched the one his uncle had given.
Yadav’s signature was included on the confessional letter.
Two individuals, Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar, were named in a confession letter written by Abhishek Kumar, a fellow NEET student, who claimed to have received study materials from them (the leaked question paper).
Kumar added that he noticed glaring parallels between the paper that was given to him and the exam question paper.
In a letter, Awdhesh Kumar, the father of Abhishek Kumar, acknowledged buying off officials in order to help his son pass the NEET exam.
“A year ago, I signed a blank check for them. In exchange for my son clearing the NEET exam, Yadavendu received two blank checks from my account,” Awdhesh Kumar stated in his letter.
“The settlement was made at Rs 40 lakh,” he stated.
This occurs just hours after Yadavendu’s confessional note and other documents were obtained by India Today, exposing the purported involvement of a “Mantri Ji” who allegedly suggested that Yadav, his mother, and other conspirators stay at a Patna government house.
EDUCATION MINISTRY SEEKS REPORT
According to authorities who spoke to news agency PTI, the Union Education Ministry requested a report from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police on Wednesday over purported anomalies in the way the NEET exam was administered in Patna.
There have been claims of anomalies in the esteemed exam, including question paper leaks in areas like Bihar. Protests in multiple locations and the filing of petitions in multiple high courts, including the Supreme Court, have resulted from the charges.
“A comprehensive report has been requested from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police, regarding certain irregularities allegedly in the conduct of the examination in Patna. Following receipt of this report, the government will take additional measures, according to a senior ministry official.
“The government is dedicated to safeguarding students’ interests and maintaining the integrity of exams. The official stated, “It is emphasized once more that any person or organization discovered to be involved in this matter will face the harshest action.”
On May 5, 4,750 locations held the NEET UG exam, which attracted almost 24 lakh applicants.
Although the results were supposed to be released on June 14, they were instead revealed on June 4, perhaps as a result of the answer sheet examination being finished sooner.
