Delhi Lok Sabha Exit Poll 2024: The sixth phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 has ended on 25 May. Now the seventh and final phase of voting is to be held on June 1. As soon as the voting for the last phase is over, everyone’s eyes will be on the exit polls. So let us tell you here how much difference was there between the exit polls and the results before the counting of votes in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. We are telling you about that. Read this special report…

Delhi Lok Sabha Exit Poll 2024: Voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi concluded in the sixth phase on 25 May. Now the last and final phase is on June 1 and after the voting is over, exit polls for the seats of all the states will come out in the evening. Which also includes the capital Delhi. There are seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, which include Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, South Delhi and West Delhi. Exit polls will come out on these seats on the evening of June 1.

    Know what is exit poll

Actually exit poll is a kind of election survey. On the day of voting, when the voter comes out of the polling booth after casting his vote, people from different survey agencies and news channels are present there. They ask the voter questions about voting. In this, they are asked whom they have voted for? In this way, questions are asked from voters from different polling booths of every assembly. By the time the voting is over, a large number of data is collected from such questions. By collecting these data and according to their answers, it is estimated what is the mood of the public? On the basis of mathematical model, it is determined how many seats can each party get? This is broadcast only after the voting is over.

How were the exit poll results in 2019?

Most of the exit polls of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 had shown the BJP coming to power. The exit polls had shown the NDA getting a massive majority. The exit poll results were very disappointing, especially for the Congress. Unlike 2024, in 2019 the opposition alliance ‘India’ did not exist, but all the opposition parties contested the elections under the UPA. However, there were some parties which were not part of any alliance.

This was the difference between the actual results and the exit polls in 2019

In Aaj Tak-Axis exit poll, BJP was shown to have won 6-7 seats in Delhi. While Congress was said to get 0-1 seats. AAP was shown to have won 0 seats in this poll. In News 24-Chanakya exit poll, BJP was shown to have won all the seven seats in Delhi. India TV’s survey showed BJP winning all the 7 seats in Delhi. But in the result, BJP won all the seven seats in Delhi.\

How much voting took place in Delhi Lok Sabha elections?

The national capital Delhi lagged behind in polling and only 58.70% voters cast their votes for all the seven Lok Sabha seats. This was also less than the last two elections. This was also less than the 61.56% voting in the sixth phase of elections held on Saturday for 58 seats in six states and two union territories. The lowest voting in the capital was 53.86% in New Delhi, while the highest voting was 62.87% in North-East Delhi.

Voting percentage is low, power struggle is tough

Due to the low voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections, the battle for power in Delhi has become a close one. Due to the fall in voting, the results are expected to be close. Political experts say that the margin of victory and defeat will not be big. It is not easy to reach any estimate due to the fluctuations in the speed of voting and the silence of the voters. The role of floating voters has become big in this. Due to more voting than the rest of Delhi, the results of the seats of North-East Delhi, East Delhi and West Delhi will be even more interesting.

The 58.70 percent voting figure released by the Election Commission on Saturday evening is not the final one. It can increase by three to four percent now. At the same time, 60.6 percent voting took place in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Compared to the last time, the decline in voting percentage is between two to three percent.

At the same time, on Saturday, voters at the polling station cast their votes on issues like development, security, employment and inflation. Voters also gave importance to better basic facilities including electricity and water. Some of these issues are of BJP and some are of India Alliance. Political experts believe that the decline in votes directly means that the voters did not show much enthusiasm for the government and the opposition. In such a situation, it is natural that voters who do not have political commitment to a particular party thought it better to sit at home in the scorching heat.
