A list of the states to which the meat has been sent has been added to this story.
On Wednesday, the United States Department of Agriculture declared that more than 16,000 pounds of ground beef were recalled due to possible E. Coli contamination.
Packages of ground beef manufactured on April 26 and 27 and with the establishment ID “EST. 86P” were recalled by Cargill Meat Solutions.
According to Cargil, the packages—which lack the Cargill name on the top packaging—had been sent to Walmart locations in 11 states as well as Washington, D.C.
There have been no complaints of illnesses, according to the USDA.
“Out of an abundance of caution and in coordination with the USDA, we have voluntarily recalled approximately 16,000 pounds of our ground beef products that may potentially be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7,” Cargill stated in a statement to according to sources. “No illnesses have been reported.”
It is urged that customers who own the impacted packages discard them or bring them back to the store. It is recommended that people who exhibit symptoms of E. Coli poisoning get medical assistance right once.
When the E. Coli strain O157:H7 was discovered in packages of Greater Omaha Packing Co. beef last month, it sparked a public health alarm. Investigating a multistate E. coli epidemic that may be connected to organic walnuts purchased from food co-ops or natural food stores, the FDA and CDC said on Tuesday.

E. Coli: What is it? What signs and symptoms are present?
Most Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria live in people’s and animals’ intestines in a harmless manner. However, if swallowed, some can result in moderate to severe gastrointestinal disorders, according to the CDC.
The most common ways that E. Coli strains that can cause diarrhea spread are through contact with animals or people and contaminated food or water. For example, food handlers who do not wash their hands properly after using the restroom can spread infections. Cattle are among the animals that can transmit E. coli to food and food crops.
