An 81-date global tour by Billie Eilish is scheduled to begin later this year.
The vocalist of What Was I Made For announced tour dates starting in September in North America, Australia, and Europe.
Billie previously told the music website Billboard that her upcoming tour would be her most environmentally friendly to date, and that it would be organized in collaboration with an environmental organization.
On May 3, tickets for the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour will go on sale. The tour is called after the next album.
On September 29, Billie will begin her tour in Canada, and in October, she will travel to the United States.
She will next travel to Australia in February and arrive in Europe in April of the following year.
The twelve UK dates for the Oscar-winning vocalist include two performances in Glasgow, six in London, and four in Manchester.
Being a longtime advocate for climate change, Billie promised to make her final tour “climate positive” in 2022—that is, to reduce emissions more than she created.
She teamed up with Reverb, a nonprofit that supports sustainability in the music business, and they will collaborate with her once more on this tour.
Reducing the use of single-use plastics, providing plant-based food options, and allocating a portion of earnings to financing climate programs are some of the initiatives.
Billie stated to Billboard earlier this month that she and her group were making every effort “to minimise waste in every aspect of my music”.
“My parents have always kept me well informed and hyper-aware that every choice we make and every action we take has an impact somewhere or on someone, good or bad, and that has always stuck with me,” she stated.
“I can’t just go about my business and job knowing nothing and doing nothing. I simply don’t want to spend my life that way, nor is it how I was reared.”
With the publication of Hit Me Hard And Soft on May 17, Billie has also disclosed her intention to lessen the influence of physical copies.
This involves using recycled vinyl to create vinyl copies, along with recycled materials for the album sleeves and packaging.
The singer stated that she wants her fans to hear the album “in one go” and that she will not be releasing any singles ahead of time.
The news of the tour was made a few days after Billie disclosed that, like Lady Gaga, she had been included in the lineup of the popular online shooter Fortnite Festival, which has a rhythm-based game.
