The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced that the NEET PG 2025 exam has been rescheduled to June 15, 2025. This update comes as a relief to thousands of medical aspirants preparing for the postgraduate entrance test. The decision to postpone the exam was made to accommodate various administrative and logistical considerations.

    NEET PG 2025

Why Was NEET PG 2025 Rescheduled?

NEET PG is one of the most competitive medical entrance exams in India, determining admissions to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. The initial schedule for NEET PG 2025 was set for March 2025, but due to certain logistical constraints and overlapping academic schedules, NBEMS has decided to conduct the exam on June 15, 2025.

The rescheduling is expected to benefit students by giving them more time for preparation and ensuring a smoother conduct of the examination. Authorities have emphasized that the decision aligns with the academic calendar of medical institutions to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing internships and coursework.

Key Changes in NEET PG 2025 Schedule

With the exam now scheduled for June 15, 2025, here are some important dates that candidates should note:

    • Application Form Release: Expected in March 2025
    • Last Date to Apply: April 2025
    • Admit Card Release: Early June 2025
    • Exam Date: June 15, 2025
    • Result Declaration: July 2025
    • Counseling Process: August 2025

    3. Medical Registration: A valid provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the NMC or State Medical Council is required.

Preparation Tips for NEET PG 2025

With the exam now postponed to June 15, candidates can utilize the extra time efficiently:

    2. Solve Previous Year Papers: Practice NEET PG question papers from the last 5-10 years to understand patterns.
    3. Take Mock Tests: Regular online mock tests will help improve time management and accuracy.
    4. Focus on High-Yield Topics: Prioritize Pharmacology, Pathology, Medicine, and Surgery, as they carry significant weight.
    5. Maintain a Study Schedule: Divide your syllabus into daily and weekly targets to cover all subjects before the exam.

What Next? Post-Exam Process & Counseling

Once the results are declared in July 2025, the counseling process will begin in August 2025. The counseling will be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities will handle state quota admissions.

    The counseling process involves:

    1. Registration for MCC counseling at https://mcc.nic.in.
    2. Choice filling and locking of preferred colleges & courses.
    3. Seat allotment results announced in multiple rounds.
    4. Reporting to the allotted institute for admission formalities.
