The manager, Mikel Arteta, and the former Brazilian international have been instrumental in transforming the Gunners into Premier League title challengers. Edu was in charge of acquiring several of the team’s top players and assisting in the departure of the less important players.
Edu has been in charge of selling players like Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Özil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and many more since assuming the position in 2019. Additionally, he was successful in attracting elite players who are now contributing significantly to the present squad. Edu’s exit comes on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday.
