A TV host commends and expresses gratitude to the staff at Birmingham Women’s Hospital for the “outstanding” treatment his spouse got.
Comedian Joe Lycett has revealed that he is the father of a kid.
The 36-year-old Lycett posted a photo of himself cuddling the baby on Instagram, stating that it was delivered at Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
In addition to thanking the hospital, the TV host commended NHS employees in his caption for “masterfully welcoming a little boy into the world, who happens to be my son.”
Despite his reputation for pulling practical jokes, the Guardian believes that this positive news report is accurate.
Born in Birmingham, Lycett posted on Friday: “This is a post of gratitude for the amazing [Birmingham women’s hospital].” I initially came into contact with them years ago when they performed surgery on a friend of mine. More recently, they expertly welcomed my son, a small boy, into the world.
“From the prenatal classes to the amazing midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses, and the continuing care in the community, his mother and he received extraordinary care and compassion.”
We adored their baked potatoes as well. They are a blessing to Birmingham, and I will always be appreciative of what they have done.
He quipped on social media that he no longer had an excuse to avoid appearing as a guest on fellow comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe‘s Parenting Hell podcast because of his new duty as a father.
“I love being a dad, but I think this means I can’t avoid going on Rob and Josh’s fucking podcast,” he wrote.
“As we have already sold Autotrader the rights to the first family photo, we will not be accepting any press requests regarding this.”
“I’ve developed a fun text when a friend has just had a baby,” the comic wrote in a 2017 Guardian story about his friends becoming parents. I pose the age-old query, “Are you sleeping?”
“They aren’t, they’re getting a few hours here and there, and they’re tired,” is the inevitable response. That’s when I interrupt, saying, “It will all be worthwhile when they are gently caressing your hair while you fall asleep.”
