Delhi blast: According to the Delhi police, the Special Cell and the forensic division are on the scene.
The national capital’s CRPF School is located near the blast site, and the Delhi police reported on Sunday that they detected an unpleasant stench there. The explosion shattered window panes on the school’s premises and completely damaged the wall.
“PS Prashant Vihar was notified this morning of a loud explosion close to the CRPF School. When the police squad arrived on the scene, they noticed an unpleasant stench. There were broken glass and window panes on the school grounds. Officers in senior command arrived at the scene. Our professionals from the Crime Team, Special Cell, and Forensic Department are present and looking into the situation. We’re investigating the cause. Until the inquiry is over, it will not be appropriate to make a definitive statement, Delhi Police PRO Sanjay Tyagi stated.
The material that was utilized in the explosion outside the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Rohini resembles a homemade bomb, according to sources from the Forensic Science Laboratory who spoke with news agency ANI. HT is unable to independently confirm the accuracy of the data.
While no injuries were recorded, surrounding establishments’ and an automobile’s glasses were discovered to be broken.
“A PCR call was received this morning at 07:47 AM, informing the caller that there had been a loud explosion close to the CRPF school in Sector 14, Rohini. When the SHO and employees arrived, they saw that the school wall was ruined and smelled bad. There was also damage to a car that was parked close to the shop and the glass of other local businesses. Thankfully, nobody was hurt,” a statement from the Delhi Police stated.
What do eyewitnesses say about the Delhi CRPF School blast?
According to one witness to the explosion, he believed an LPG cylinder had exploded.
“We heard a big noise at approximately 7:30 in the morning. We believed there had been a nearby LPG cylinder explosion. We promptly reported the incident to the fire department and the police. Numerous storefront windows were broken,” the resident reported.
Sumit, who runs a sunglasses shop close to the blast site, said the blast was very intense.
“My window panes got shattered. Everything inside my shop fell on the ground. It was a very intense blast,” he said.
The police have not ruled out the terror angle.
