Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition, has come under fire again from Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for his remarks regarding Sikhs. When Bittu referred to Gandhi as the nation’s top terrorist last week, the Congress reacted angrily. Bittu was retaliated against by the grand old party, who demanded an apology.
The minister, however, declined to apologize today, stating that the Congress President ought to make it clear whether or not he agrees with Gandhi’s comments. Gandhi stated during his four-day visit to the US that the dispute in India is over whether a Sikh will be permitted to visit a Gurdwara or wear a turban or kada.
“Why should I feel bad? In Punjab, our generations are gone. The Gandhi clan set Punjab on fire. 35,000 people died trying to put an end to the terrorism that the Gandhi family’s mistakes in Punjab caused, and even the Chief Minister had to give his life in order to stop it. Speaking to reporters, the minister declared, “I will retract that statement the day I meet a Sikh who claims he was forbidden from wearing a turban, a kada (Sikh wristband), or from visiting a Gurudwara.
“Being Sikh causes me pain. I am a Sikh first and a minister second. What will you say if Rahul Gandhi and terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu both advocate for a Khalistan referendum using similar language? He inquired. Karge sahab ought to offer an apology. If he believes that Sikhs are not welcome, he should make it clear, regardless of what Rahul Gandhi stated during his speech. Kharge saheb ought to bring one Sikh who is not prohibited from donning a kada and turban.”
Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a separatist from Khalistan, had supported Gandhi’s comments about Sikhs. In response, Bittu declared on Sunday that he is the “number one terrorist” if those “manufacturing bombs” were helping him. In Bhagalpur, Bihar, Bittu, the Minister of State for Railways, made the statement while attending the flagging-off ceremony of a Vande Bharat Express train to Howrah.
The central informant told reporters that Gandhi traveled outside the nation for the majority of his time. “There are his family and friends present. Because he travels abroad and speaks poorly of India, I believe he does not really love his home country. He is not a Hindustani, in my opinion. Separatists, who have been advocating for the division of this nation, are now lending him support. Rahul Gandhi is being praised by them (separatists) and the most wanted people for his remarks against Sikhs. Rahul Gandhi is the nation’s most dangerous terrorist when such individuals, who are also proficient in making bombs, back him.”
Gandhi was sounding like a separatist, according to Bittu. He declared, “There should be a reward for catching him as he is the biggest enemy of the country,” adding that the Congress was trying to divide Sikhs now that it had failed in its earlier attempt to “use” Muslims.
