KL Before making a move, Rahul participated in four IPL seasons for RCB from 2013 to 2016.
KL Rahul’s animated conversation with Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game this year has cast doubt on his future with the team. Rahul’s departure from the team is still a possibility, despite LSG owner Goenka’s recent assertion that the player is a member of his family. This is because a massive auction is scheduled to take place prior to the upcoming IPL season. Among the teams connected to Rahul, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are a potential fit for the standout batsman.
For those who don’t know, Rahul and RCB have a past. Between 2013 and 2016, the players were a part of the team for four seasons.
That being said, Rahul recently had a conversation with an RCB supporter. Rahul was confronted by the fan in a widely shared video, and he acknowledged that he was aware of the rumors connecting him to his previous team.
Goenka talked candidly about his relationship with Rahul last month when Zaheer Khan was introduced as their team’s mentor.
“Look, for the past three years, I have been seeing KL on a regular basis. I’m a little shocked by how much attention this meeting received. Goenka informed reporters, “As I’ve stated, we have not accepted any calls until the retention guidelines are released.
However, KL has been a vital and significant member of the LSG family from the beginning. He’s had a significant impact. “He is and will always be like family,” he continued.
In response to a question about captaincy and player retention, Goenka stated that they have not made a decision yet and are awaiting the BCCI to publish the retention guidelines.
“September, October, and November are our entire months to make that decision. Give the policies a rest. We don’t even know if we will retain three, four, five, or six members of the team moving forward,” Goenka stated.
