Day 2 highlights of the Paris Paralympics 2024: Preethi Pal wins bronze in the women’s 100-meter T35 event, and Avani and Mona place 1-3 in the 10m rifle shooting competition.

Avani Lekhara repeated as the first female Indian athlete to win a gold medal at the Paralympic Games three years earlier when she successfully defended her 10m rifle title. Manish Narwal also reached the podium back-to-back, winning a Paris silver in the 10m pistol after taking home the gold in the 50m pistol in Tokyo.
Preeti Pal made history in the Paralympic track events by becoming the first Indian woman to win a bronze medal. She ran a personal best to win the bronze in the women’s 100-meter T35 event.
Suhas Yathiraj (SL4) and Thulasimathi Murugesan (SU5), the top seeds in Para badminton, lived up to their reputations by making it to the knockout stages in their respective divisions.
Rakesh Kumar persevered through a deluge of rain to advance to the men’s compound individual event round of 16 in para archery. In her round of 32 match, Sarita prevailed.
