Biopic on Yuvraj Singh has been confirmed. T-Series will back the film chronicling the life and career of the Indian cricketing icon. Read on for details.
On Tuesday, T-Series Films’ official Instagram and X handles made the official announcement of Yuvraj Singh’s biopic. The movie, whose working title seems to be Six Sixes based on the tweet, will center on the iconic cricket player’s incredible transformation from World Cup hero to cancer survivor. Biopic to show Yuvraj’s triumphs on and off the field
The filmmakers wrote on Twitter, “Relive the legend’s journey from the pitch to the heart of millions — Yuvraj Singh’s story of grit and glory is coming soon on the big screen!”
To bring Yuvraj’s story to life, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, who has worked on movies like Animal and Kabir Singh, is collaborating with producer Ravi Bhagchandka. Before, Ravi had supported the 2017 documentary Sachin: A Billion Dreams, which followed Sachin Tendulkar.
According to a report by Variety, the movie is supposed to recreate one of Yuvraj’s most memorable moments in his lengthy career: during India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning campaign, he famously hit six sixes in a single over against England bowler Stuart Broad.
He was player of the series in India’s 2011 World Cup victory, and his contributions to that tournament are anticipated to be highlighted as well. Yuvraj was given a cancer diagnosis in 2011, and his fight and victorious comeback to cricket in 2012 are sure to be highlights. In 2019, Yuvraj declared his retirement from international cricket.
