The interview had an interesting beginning since it was interrupted before it could begin by significant technical difficulties.
In a recent X interview with Elon Musk, Donald Trump boasted that Joe Biden’s forced withdrawal from the US Presidential race was the result of a “coup”.
“I had one of the best debate performances ever; I defeated Biden so badly that it forced him out of the race. “The departure of Biden was a coup,” the 78-year-old remarked.
Musk reiterated the former US President’s accusation, stating, “They essentially took him behind a shed and shot him.”
In the interview, Donald Trump also talked about the attempted assassination attempt that occurred last month, which the Republican candidate barely avoided. He called it a “hard hit.”
It was a forceful blow. It was very much not surreal, but I suppose you could call it that. As I mentioned to someone, there are times, like this one, when you feel as though something is not real. Regarding the incident where he claimed the bullet struck his ear, Trump remarked, “And I never felt that way.
“I quickly realized that it was a bullet. I realized right away that it was in the ear. I think we should all start considering those who don’t believe in God,” he continued.
The billionaire businessman had to conduct the interview for a limited audience due to numerous users being unable to tune in, as the interview was beset by significant technical difficulties even before it could begin.
A counter on X indicated that more than a million people were tuned in at the beginning of the conversation.
Trump remarked, “Congratulations on breaking every record in the book,” seemingly referring to the volume of listeners who attempted to join their conversation.
The goal of the interview was to help Trump’s flagging campaign gain momentum as his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, has surged ahead in polls and electrified Democratic voters with a string of intense rallies. It’s been dubbed the “interview of the century” by the Trump campaign.
“This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining!” With an estimated net worth of $235 billion, 53-year-old Musk shared a sneak peek of the interview on Sunday.
A month after Musk assumed control of the business, Trump was able to access his X account, @realDonaldTrump. The account was suspended by the previous owners of the platform after his supporters attacked Congress on January 6, 2021.Since its February 2022 launch, Trump has posted on his Truth Social social media platform frequently.
Prior to the interview, Trump, 78, shared a campaign video on X on Monday, his first post in over a year, in which he described himself as the target of forces seeking “destroy” the United States.
Shortly after Trump narrowly avoided being assassinated during a rally last month, Musk—one of the Democrats’ most vocal opponents—endorsed the Republican.
