INDIAN bloc to demonstrate at Jantar Mantar today against Arvind Kejriwal’s deteriorating health while incarcerated in Tihar jail
The Congress, Samajwadi Party, and Trinamool Congress, together with other prominent members of the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, will protest at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday in response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s failing health while incarcerated in Tihar jail.
By citing his medical records, which show that his blood sugar levels fell 34 times between June 3 and July 7, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of plotting to assassinate the Delhi chief minister while he was incarcerated.
On July 15, Delhi minister Atishi claimed that Arvind Kejriwal has lost weight quickly and mysteriously. He blamed the BJP for any potential harm that might come to Kejriwal. Who’ll pay if he suffers a stroke or other brain damage? Since March 21, he has lost 8.5 kg in weight. He weighed 70 kg the day ED detained him, and 61.5 kg following his medical examination in Tihar jail, she claimed.
Due to charges of corruption and money laundering in the now-canceled Delhi liquor excise policy, Arvind Kejriwal is the subject of an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The ED had him arrested on March 21 for alleged money laundering. Following the CBI’s opening of an investigation into claims of corruption in the same case, the chief minister is currently detained in Tihar jail under judicial supervision.
Kejriwal’s judicial custody was prolonged by a Delhi court on July 23 until August 8. Additionally, the court extended judicial detention in a money laundering case under investigation by the ED until July 31. The CBI submitted its fifth and final charge sheet on Monday, citing Arvind Kejriwal as the “sutradhaar” (facilitator) of corruption in the alleged liquor scam and pledging to press for an early trial.
Sanjay Singh, an AAP MP, declared on Monday that prominent figures from the INDIA bloc would take part in the demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The political parties involved in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, DMK, CPI, Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP), Shiv Sena (UBT), and Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation. Two or three other parties are in talks with us,” he stated.
