Dinesh Sharma, a BJP MP, stated that Channi ought to be banished by the Congress since he expressed sympathy for terrorists.
On Thursday, controversial Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh’s freedom of speech was allegedly restricted by the BJP-led Central government, according to Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi, who set off a political firestorm. Following a contentious argument with the former Punjab chief minister in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Ravneet Singh Bittu responded to the statement by calling Channi a traitor.
“Through the House, a former CM is misrepresenting the entire nation and acting like a traitor. He added that farmers had received a black eye from the NSA. However, it has been applied to those who sought to destroy Punjab and the nation. He claimed that it is untrue to say that farmers have been targeted by the NSA. An ex-CM has talked about shattering Punjab and the nation. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress were seated in front of him, pressuring him to say it. He was caught off guard and unable to respond when we instructed him to carry the evidence to the House Floor. Because of him, the Congress party and the INDI Alliance as a whole feel ashamed, Bittu remarked.
Dinesh Sharma, a BJP MP, stated that Channi ought to be banished by the Congress since he expressed sympathy for terrorists.
“Charanjit Singh Channi is acting on the orders of certain anti-national elements in Canada and speaking in favor of terrorists.” He ought to be expelled by Congress. He remarked, “If Congress does not take action against him, then it indicates that they are associated with individuals who are anti-national as well.”
During the Budget debate, Charanjit Singh Channi asserted that the country is under an undeclared state of emergency due to the actions of the BJP government.
“Every day, they (the BJP) talk about the emergency. But what about the current state of the undeclared emergency in the nation?… A man who was chosen by 20 lakh Punjabi voters to be an MP is currently detained under the NSA. This is another emergency. The opinions of the people in his constituency cannot be presented by him here. This is an emergency as well,” he continued.
Channi stated that when farmers demanded their rights, they were labeled as Khalistani.
Union minister Pralhad Joshi responded to Channi’s comments by stating that the Amritpal Singh case is being investigation.
This is a court case. He is the target of grave accusations (Amritpal Singh). Discussing it in the Parliament is improper. The actions taken by Congress are in front of the people. Since Charanjit Singh Channi was absent during the Emergency, he was unaware of the situation at the time. He asked, “They always making remarks about the PM today. Was it ever conceivable to say something like that about Indira Gandhi when there was an emergency?
Giriraj Singh, a union minister, charged that the Congress backed groups that favored Khalistan.
Regarding Channi’s claim, all I can say is that the Congress is siding with Khalistanis, and the person who killed Indira Gandhi was a Khalistani. Congress, wah wah, Jai Channi. The sovereignty of India is being attacked by this. Congress ka haath, Khalistanion ke saath – something has to be done about this, he stated.
